Jamie Howren
- About the Photographer
Born
in Washington, D.C., Jamie was raised in Alexandria, Virginia.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Meredith College for
Women in Raleigh, North Carolina and spent a semester abroad in
Paris, France studying under the direction of renowned fresco artist
Ben Long. She also studied at The Maine Photographic Workshops
in Rockport, Maine. Over the last 15 years, Jamie has built a portrait
business and created multiple portfolios focusing on landscapes
and architecture. She has specifically created portfolios of Harvard
Business School, Columbia University and the United States Naval
Academy. Jamie has worked with several non-profit organizations,
including San Francisco-based "Little Brothers - Friends of
the Elderly" and the Coronado Historical Association, donating
her photography to their fundraising efforts. Since 2001, Jamie
has dedicated herself to Open Doors: Vietnam POWs Thirty Years
Later and is now working on two additional books. One of the new
books is a walking tour guide for the United States Naval Academy
and the other celebrates the unique relationships between motorcycles
and their riders. She lives in Rancho Santa Margarita, California
with her eight-year-old daughter.
Taylor Baldwin Kiland

Taylor Baldwin Kiland holds a master’s degree from Northwestern
University’s Medill School of Journalism and a bachelor’s
degree in journalism from the University of Southern California. A
former naval officer – the third generation in her family to
serve, she has also worked as an account director for the global communications
firm Burson-Marsteller, volunteered for numerous national political
campaigns – including that of Senator John McCain’s in
2000, and she continues to serve on several charitable boards of directors.
Taylor’s next two books, a children’s book about careers
in the Navy and a walking tour guide of the United States Naval
Academy, will be published in 2006 and 2007, respectively. She
lives in Arlington,
Virginia.
